As cliché as it may sound, I genuinely believe that helping someone else makes the world a better place. Not only do I have one of the most intellectually rewarding job on the planet, but I am also in a unique position to help individuals, who may not have a voice.
As a Family Lawyer, I help individuals navigate through what is one of the most stressful events of their life. Separation is a complex process. Not only can it involve the difficult task of dividing one’s belongings with a former partner, but it can also involve the negotiation of child custody arrangements moving forward.
Supporting my clients during this process, I like to think that they don’t feel like they are going through this alone. I find it very rewarding when I can put predictability back into my client’s future and arm them with knowledge to regain control of their life. There’s nothing better than seeing my clients grow to a point where they become empowered and ready to take the next steps in their new future.
Because Family Law is so diverse, it often intersects with other areas of law such as Corporate Law, Property Law, Criminal Law and at times Employment Law. Property negotiations and settlements are of particular interest to me as I am given the opportunity to help my clients work out which assets are to be divided and how. I am experienced in matters involving complex corporate structures and asset tracing.
I am also highly experienced in representing clients in complex parenting matters involving relocation, family violence, sexual assault, mental health issues and personality disorders. I am often assisting clients leave abusive relationships, particularly those who are narcissistic abuse survivors.
